"Are you Rude?"

Hi Ching Wern,

First of all, I would like to apologies beforehand for any poor grammatical error and stuff. Please also do not take offence in what I trying to say.

I’m a 26 male working professional. When I saw the trailer with you sitting in front engaging MM Lee in that dialogue, I felt sad. Personal respect for MM Lee aside, I still feel that the presentation of the participants is generally unsatisfactory let alone rude.

I watch the dialogue in about three to four times in a row, “analyzing” the details, questions asked and stuff. There are heats debate, comments and stuff in major blogs in regards to the dialogue. Even Class 95 FM, Morning Express is talking about this topic.

What topic are they talking about? Are they really talking about politics? Had you really achieved what the dialogue had meant to be?

The question here is very simple. First of all, we understand that MM Lee had given the green light for you guys/girls, to post whatever questions you had in mind. I would like to ask, when asking the questions (please watch back the dialogue), do you think you guys are tactful in asking them?

Why are you been named “rude”? Had you really ask yourself that question. If today, you post the same question to a younger PAP candidate, would you be labeled “rude”, you are posting question to an elderly. If you had a watch the dialogue again, do you think that show had shown the necessary respect to an elderly, let alone someone who had done enormous contribution to our society.

Even if MM Lee gives the leeway to “speak back”. Do you think there are thousands of ways of “talking back”, yet the methods used are not very tactful to the general public?

Quoting from a British program is a totally bad example, this is a dialogue, you expect communication, if not it’s just another Li Ao talk show.

It’s not about open minded or close minded. Seriously, I generally feel the topics bring up in the forum is general good. What is lacking here is the tactfulness of representation, the general respect to an elderly (let alone a figure) that is very much needed.

Do you talk in such mannerism to your grandparents?

Maybe it’s also reflects the failing of the program where a neutral, more mature moderator is needed to bridge between MM Lee and the participants.

The Prince and The Pauper.

I had a Prince and the Pauper moment today. No, I'm not the pauper, niether am I the prince.

Let me explain.

I know the "Prince". He is just a normal friend of mine, still studying, doing things that he like and stuff. The "Prince" and I are not very close, but I kinda know what he's doing.

Every Wednesday, I will go to my company's subsidory. Recently I say this person that look 85% like the "Prince". So much so, whenever I saw this person, I thought of the "Prince" friend of mine.

Today, I had yet another feeling. I was doing my work and it is super near to where where this person is work. He is doing a very mundane job of checking some product. After watching him for about 5 min, This Prince and the Pauper story came into my mind. Here is the pauper who working happily, returning home when it's time, coming back when the days starts, year in, day out.

And yet, unknown to this pauper, is a prince, when I saw this pauper working, this prince is performing somewhere to a group of people. A prince who have some problems in his life that he had difficulty dealing with.

Maybe in this life, The prince and the pauper will never meet. Maybe they will, who's knows. With this, another question comes into my mind. Will there be someone who look exactly like me somewhere in this world. If there is, am I the Prince or the Pauper?

Long Weekend (140406-160406)

140406.

Woke up mighty early (For a holiday). I had to reach church by 9a.m for bible study, woke up @ 7a.m, out of housey by 7.30a.m. I took a train to Bedok, realise that bus 608 don't operate on Sunday and Public Holidays (Note to self: Remember hor!), took bus 14 instead, as usual bus 14 when a big loop towards church, late for 5min instead.

Pastor shared a fairly touching message, gave an altar call and people went to the altar to receive Christ. I felt touched, not sure why, but, I don't remember I had this kinda feeling while I was over at CHC (even though there were hundreds being save in each session). Went for fellowship with gang (cell group), rush off immediately after that (sky was fairly dark then) to go orchard.

It was raining when I reach Orchard Rd, I alighted @ somerset MRT instead and took a train to Orchard. Went Taka, Book Kinokuniya (don't know right spelling or not), enquired on a book I'm finding, no stock, no idea when it's going to be in. (Cost. $20 plus). Went in Opera Art Gallery, saw some painting. (They have a Fernando Botero sculpture on display). Decided to go Borders to try my luck instead on the book. Walked back towards Wisma direction. Saw there was a G2000 sale, went in to check out the Jacket, (don't have me size, me too big). Reach Borders, enquired again on the book, Man, they don't carry the title.

Saw "The Gospel of Judas" hitting the bookstore. There's another book caleld "The Jesus's Paper". Had this really sad feeling the we are really reaching the end of the world. Alot of things had happened, is happenening and will continued to happen.

I was quite sad about the direction the media is going, made a silent prayer to the Lord. On the way out of Borders, saw a section of borders (dvd section) airing "Chronicles of Narnia". God answered "In midst of all these, there will be a ray of light". Yes, people can use the media against Christianity, in the same way God can use this media to do His Work.

It was still raining when I made my way to cyberia (LAN shop). Auntie was working there, I plug in my comp and started playing maple for 2 hours (killing some times before the BBQ). Found out from Sammi that Joanne is around town, called Joanne and we meet @ taxi stand @ taka and took a cab to Kwang's place.

Reached Kwang's place. Saw my ex-colleauges. Played with the youngest of Kwang's niece (Her name is Aliyah, nick La La), She looked exactly like Ju Ju (the baby's second elder brother).She had so much fun playing with me that when I step away for a while, she started crying. I had to carry her (a baby mind you, don't worry, I got experince) to coax her. Brought her in and pass her to her grandmother (Kwang's mom), cause when I put her down again, she cried. Hahaha. Thought I never have the chance to eat, because I need to "entertain her". I had took her pics, but will upload later, cause I am now penning in a Fast food restaurant, on my way to my dance class (me penning on 150406, 2.26pm).

Anyway, ate a bit first, helped out in BBQ, had a first glass of Chivas on the rock. (no kick), drink another 2 glass (still no kick). Fourth glass, (kick coming in all of the sudden, was super high when I hit the fifth glass (don't worry, I not drunk).
This 5 glass was for the whole night (Note to self: Wait abit longer for the kick to be in before starting another).

In between the drinks, I BBQ for the people, made some mashmallows on the stick which was one of the popular "dish" for the nite. Kiddos like it, even the adults like it. I told Kwang maybe I will setup a mashmallow stand. hahaha.

Well, after that, hitch a ride back with one of my ex-colleuges. Reach home, took a bath, hit the bed.

I woke up around 8.30am (I thought I would wake up late). Played maple story (Yes, I level again). Left home for salsa class, went Clementi for Lunch, (Had fried rice). Wanted to take Bus 10, searched the entire Bus 10 had shifted to Kent Ridge. Took a train instead. Went to a Mac and started blogging the first part of this blog (above written). Went for salsa class, it was more difficult then I think. But, I had fun, I sweat kind a bit (I mean exercise). Stayed abit longer to cleared something on computer. Went down to chinatown to look for something, end up on another Mac @ Chinatown point, chatted abit with someone. Went down to Novena, meetup with my financial planner to discuss something. Parted our ways around 8.30pm. Then went MPH and Trumpet praise to look at some books. Got some books before I head for home.

Wake up around 7am, went to church, finished one of the books I bought (The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho). Really enjoyed the service. Reached home, had lunch and now blogging away. Today need to rest. Really

Updates (04/04/06)

It's been a long time since I last did an update.

Wait Ah; let me check where I had stop. I did an update on 03/01/06, so it's about 3 months. Hmmmm. Maybe I will do a quarterly update of my life instead.

Since the last update, nothing much had changed.

I had more or less settled down in my work environment, I went Penang for a work trip, did a weekly visit to a subsidiary @ Lorong Ah Soo. The working hours here are more relaxing than my previous job, so more time to blog and do my personal things.

I had more of less settled down in church, seeing myself witnessing more to people than usual, more enthuses in reading the word, more obedience in hearing what He said. Within this short 3 months, a lot of things had happened and is still happening.

Still working on the 2 book project of mine, “2024” is still in research phase, while I’m into page 10 of “Visitation from my Future Wife”. Had some delays due to the above mentioned.

Maplestory: ArseneLupin is not Lvl 45. same goes to BlackoRobin. I got 2 character (Store character) stuck because of the patches. Been playing lesser due to the above above mentioned.

Suppose to go for Jamie Cullum tonight but it was Cancelled (by God, I felt). Thank God anyway, because I had no one to go with (All my friends not of that caliber). I have to wait another 2 months for it, see how it goes then, Any people interested (gals only hor).

Anyway, I am picking up Salsa this mid-month. Don’t ask me why, I can’t really explain. Slim down? Take my mind off something? Whatever.

Goodbye Ah (Roti)boy . (Post-date Entry)

I was working then in a Law Firm @ Toa Payoh HDB Hub when a Roti-boy spring up around the area.

Initially, with all the fad going on, I decided to give it a shot. I find that it's addiction at first few tries. Then you will get sick of it of all the butter taste.

Anyway, when the shop was first setup, I was doing an economic analysis on how long it will survive. I discuss it with my then-boss, some colleauges.

I told that the the business will fail within a year or two with the following reasons.

1. It's a trend based business.
2. The over-heads are high, 4-5 people operating in each store. Equipments, rentals.
3. It's only selling one type of bun.
4. Competitions came up (Papparoti, RotiMama)

There time passed, time tell, and on 20th Mar, Rotiboy annouced that he will pull off the remainder/last standing store @ Shaw House.

Goodbye Rotiboy, hope you do well in malaysia. If you need a business consultant. this is my card.
